Hello and welcome to Pearl Psychological!

My name is Vanessa Iceton, and I am thrilled to be your dedicated Registered Psychologist, committed to guiding you on your journey to healing and personal growth.

Before registering as a psychologist, I was a child and youth care worker for 8 years in the Indigenous population.   I worked with ages six to eighteen year old’s. I immersed myself in and learned about the culture and their spiritual ways of living and being. I am honored to have had this opportunity and I will cherish it forever. 

I also have extensive experience working as a Disability Case Manager for 4 years while I attended my masters program. This afforded me the knowledge to help my clients who are going on or are applying for short term or long term disability. 

I took my Bachelor of Arts at Concordia University and graduated from the 3 year program. I then transferred to the University of Alberta where I took and graduated from the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology 4 year program. I completed my Masters of Counselling Psychology in December of 2017. I became fully Registered with the College of Alberta of Psychologists in December 2023. 

I have a profound passion for the field of counseling, and I consider it a privilege to work with my clients and help them overcome life’s challenges. Experience and Special Interests

With over 6 years of experience in mental health counseling, I have had the privilege of supporting clients through various life challenges. My special interests lie in working with individuals facing trauma, grief, loss, and self-esteem issues, as well as couples. Additionally, I have extensive experience in assisting those dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, addictions, PTSD, and ADHD. I am dedicated to providing personalized care that addresses the unique needs of each individual, helping them achieve lasting positive change

Evidence-Based Therapies

As a skilled and trained therapist, I utilize evidence-based therapies that have proven to be effective in empowering clients on their path to healing. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to address negative thought patterns, Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma recovery, and specialized training as a Grief Recovery Specialist with the Grief Recovery Institute. Additionally, I am equipped with Level 1 and 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, which strengthens relationships through evidence-based interventions.
