Grieving alone is hard.

Grief is a natural and normal response to life events that can’t be avoided, suppressed, or ignored. Every person will walk through grief differently, some taking more time to heal than others. The amount of time someone grieves does not make them lesser than—nor does how they express their grief. Grief can look like sadness, anger, disbelief, or pain.

Without help, grief may feel overwhelming and leave you feeling lonely. Grief isn’t meant to be experienced alone. While many people feel they must isolate their grief, joining a grief recovery support group is a safe way to process emotions, ask questions, and learn evidence-based ways to reconnect with yourself.

Process your loss with others in Edmonton

Alone, people experiencing grief may not have the tools or resources to navigate through their grief. The Grief Recovery Support Group teaches you how to understand, process, and take effortful steps together to heal and recover. At Pearl, we use the Grief Recovery Method™ in our grief counselling. It uses evidence-based, proven methods of working through the feelings of grief in a safe and supportive environment.

In our Edmonton Grief Recovery Support Group, we come together weekly over the course of 8 weeks, working through the Grief Recovery Handbook by John W. James and Russell Freidman along with weekly homework assignments and insight provided by facilitators Vanessa and Leah.

Grief is additive and can be complex. Join us in understanding grief and embracing healing strategies rooted in the Grief Recovery Method. Find a safe space with emotional support this September.
